So yeah, I got caught in a hailstorm yesterday. Managed to find cover for most of it. When it was over, I was incredibly pleased to discover that my car didn't have any dents anywhere on the sheet metal. Somehow I lucked out, right? Until this morning when I realize that I've got a bunch of tiny chips in the paint that weren't there yesterday. Gah! Totally sucks. Still better than dents or dimples in the sheet metal but its shitty because you can see the primer underneath. Why does E90 paint chip so easily? I might file an insurance claim. Why does it hail so much in Southern Alberta?
Anybody here got any hail horror stories that might make me feel better that I got off as easily as I did?

When I was tiny I was sitting in my great uncle's living room when a baseball sized piece went through the roof and the drywall and apparently whacked the baby carrier I was in cracking the plastic. Obviously I don't remember it, but to this day my mom freaks the fuck out if there's any possibility of hail.

I was caught out in a hail storm friday, I booked it to the closest shelter I could find and haven't noticed any damage thank god. My brothers van got totalled thursday in airdrie, and I had co-workers with bad damage. The hail is so bad here for the same reason we get awesome chinooks in the winter, moist air coming in from bc.
